The traditional artisanal production is carried out by women. For the fiber to be ready for weaving, it must first be collected, sun-dried, passed through the legs of the ayoreas to thin the threads, and then dyed.
The dyeing is done using a 100% natural method, utilizing roots, bark, and ash or clay.

The ayoreode or "ayoreos" (in Spanish, "gente verdadera") are a semi-nomadic people of hunters originating from the northern Chaco region of Bolivia and Paraguay.
